Start the holidays off with pianist/composer Attila Fias and his stellar quintet joined by the soulful vocalist Susannah Adams, as they present jazz interpretations of medieval, Christmas, and midwinter music. Attila's imaginative arrangements will enchant you and transport you to a warm, cozy place where the music dances with joy and celebrates the mystery of the season! You'll hear renditions of medieval carols and Yuletide songs as well as jazz classics that capture the spirit of Christmas and winter solstice.
Attila has assembled a quintet that features Victoria's finest musicians, including two fantastic Naden Band members - Miguelito Valdes on trumpet, flugelhorn and congas, and Barrie Sorensen on saxes and flute. The dynamic Kelby MacNayr on drums and the musical Louis Rudner on bass with Attila on piano and synth round out the rest of this great ensemble. There will also be some fun surprises, so don't miss out on this magical night!
Attila Fias, a Hungarian-born, Toronto-raised platinum-selling pianist and composer who makes his home in Victoria BC, is renowned for seamlessly blending various genres of music with jazz. Recognized for his spectacular and pyrotechnic playing, critics also praise him as a lyrical piano interpreter breathing new life into others' works. He has performed on prestigious stages worldwide and collaborated with numerous internationally acclaimed musicians.
