SHPIK creates bold and fluid music, full of soft twists and turns. Bringing a breath of fresh air to the music with their effects and inspired poetry, their sound is both blues-inspired and soothing, smooth and spirited. They put forth accessible jazz without being cutesy, but one that is cinematic and experimental.

SHPIK’s first album, Fabulation, was released in November 2016. Active in the Montreal jazz scene, the band won the TD Jazz Grand Prize at the 2018 Montreal International Jazz Festival. Critics described it as an "Impressionist music that will please both newcomers to contemporary jazz but also avid, seasoned listeners" (Ariane Cipriani | ICI Musique | Radio-Canada) and a "universe with changing rhythms, an airy soundscape, with impressionist and melancholic atmospheres reminiscent of E.S.T, where noises and effects are like the emissaries of the unknown, seemingly representing the spirits of the forest." (Benjamin Goron | Camuz).

Consisting of pianist and composer Arnaud Spick-Saucier, bassist Etienne Dextraze, drummer Philippe Lussier-Baillargeon, and saxophonist Alex Dodier, SHPIK offers bold and impressionistic music, drawing its inspiration from jazz and film.
